Get Involved…

Ways to Help Orphans in Need:

Individual or Family  (What can I/we do?)

· save your change in a jar to give each month

· set aside extra money (tithe to the church first) earned to give sponsorship to an orphan or toward a part of an orphan ministry itself

· trade in the money for coffee, a meal, or going out to eat altogether

· sell items in a garage sale to be able to give

· go and be the hands and feet of Jesus to them on a short-term/long-term mission trip

· prayerfully consider adopting an orphan

Church  (What does God call us to in partnering with Him?)

· pastors share and teach about God’s Word concerning the poor and needy to include the orphans and commission groups/teams to minister to orphans needs and allow for supporting orphan outreach ministries

· support an orphan ministry as part of missions giving

· have a team go on regular short-term mission trips to come alongside caretakers, teachers, & pastors to bring encouragement, support, and love to them and the orphans in their care

· schedule ongoing orphan outreach projects as God directs in partnering with the rural church (providing food, clothing, hygiene kits, shelter, school materials, medical clinics/medicines, VBS programs, special gifts etc.)

· start a fund to help toward the cost of adoption for those with desire to do so

Youth Group/individual youth/youth-at-heart  (How can I/we be a part?)

· have regular car wash fellowship times

· have a bake sale

· use gifts, talents, and time (write letters of encouragement, design shirts/hats or make jewelry and donate profits, get a job in order to make a difference, have a mini-youth concert, go on a mission trip, be a voice/share with others, create a website…)

Musicians, Singers, Bands, Songwriters  (How is my voice/writing to be used, w/ the position                                                                                God’s given, to make the greatest impact                                                                                                   and an eternal difference?)

· take the time to speak about their rights and needs whenever you worship and perform

· support an orphan ministry and give opportunity for others to join the effort

· include songs/lyrics to bring awareness, to encourage others to respond, to show support, and to reveal God’s heart to love and reach them

· produce an orphan project CD in which most/all proceeds go toward helping our brothers/sisters who are the least of these

· perform benefit concerts

· come together for an all day concert event in rotating shifts among the different artists, bands, styles as an offering of your gifts and talents unto the Lord while all proceeds go to benefiting orphans;  possibility of performing more than once in various regions of the country.  Something to think on, pray about, and do for His glory and renown…

Businesses, Actors/Actresses, Athletes  (What could my response be?)

· opportunities to be a voice for orphans with individuals and large groups

· opportunities to build/fund part of or whole orphanage/orphan ministries

· opportunities to build schools, support teachers, and provide supplies

· opportunities to build/fund rural churches who support orphans and minister to the poor and needy

· opportunities to build transition apartments/living facilities for aged-out orphans leaving orphanages

· opportunities to build residential buildings/homes for widows in need
